In February, we will continue to focus our efforts on collecting recyclable items for SCARCE (School & Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education). We will be collecting holiday lights that no longer work or you no longer want.The lights that SCARCE will accept are: Italian mini-lights, traditional lights, extension cords, rope lights, LED lights. Lights can be in working or non working condition, from any holiday!Please place the lights you wish to donate in the box in our foyer. Little Hats, Big Hearts - We
would like to thank all of our customers who participated in the “Little Hats,
Big Hearts” program. Our little beanies were turned in to the Elmhurst Memorial
Hospital and they were pleased to receive our donation. The American Heart
Association has advised us that this program will continue throughout the year.
In view of this, we will schedule several “Little Red Beanies” days when we can
get together and create beanies for newborns, watch our website for the next

Rebecca L Frencl, the author of “Ascent of the Fallen” lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband, her daughter and, according to her, two spoiled hound dogs. Ms. Frencl is a teacher and has been teaching 8th graders for more than 15 years. She tells her students it’s not that they don’t like to read they just haven’t met the right book yet. Ms. Frencl is determined to help all of her students find the “right book.”
